Will Super 8 be "super"?

Oh jj abrams. Please show the creatures. Cloverfield was a disappointment - don't you know by now that the general american public has little imagination. We need to see it - tell us what to imagine and we'll play off of that. I do think super eight looks quite interesting, with a lot of suspense and action. My only concern, aside from my sarcastic complaint above, is the length of time before we see the creature, person or persons. Let's not make it too long, though at this point there's not much that can be done about it right? So here's to hoping it matches up with Xmen in fun and transformers in potential. Looks promising, but JJ has been living of the vibe of Lost for too long...give us quality, because the man is certainly capable. I'll let you know my thoughts when I see it. Cheers.

History favors the bold

Building a quality NBA team takes both money and talent, and a bit of luck. Make no mistake - everyone looks at the payroll of the heat but mark Cuban is no spending slouch either. He just spent it on the bench. And that is a good reason why they are winning and have, according to history, a probable chance of closing this out and further setting doubt on lebrons shoulders. Bosh, wade, nor Joel Anthony will get more scrutiny this summer for a heat loss than lebron. Fair or unfair. But is he the type to bounce back, like kobe? He can't bolt for a new city looking for new teammates, so he must learn how. Wade will be a year older and more banged up and bosh will still be bosh. The will bring in more vets, but have no trade bait. Though with the players that absorb 3/4 of the heats salary, they shouldn't have to make many moves - aside from moving Bibby to a retirement home. And if the mavericks close out, the bolder owner, who's name is Cuban for spending and investing on more not so cheap but better fitting pieces (haywood, kidd, terry, barea, chandler) rather than high priced, shiny parts, they classic formula for winning - a 15 man team - will prove history the wiser.

Why we should root for the Mavericks. (In response to aaxxreez.blogspot.com)

So here we go again. Game 2 of the finals is coming up today, and we'll get it started off by ranting a bit on the Mavericks and why they should win:

The difference between you and anyone else picking/rooting in this series would be the lack of knowledge you have in the teams (we all know basketball isn't your strong suit). While you can hate, you have to appreciate the drive and will of Dirk Nowitzki (apparently the only one with it on his team this series - though not enough credit given to the Heat defense minus Bosh) to win a championship. I mean, really, who would have guessed that having the 2 of the top 3 players in basketball today and one top 20 would get you in the finals? Really? Dirk is a top 5 himself this postseason, but he's on an island and needs his JET to bail him out soon. That's why rooting for the Mavericks should be at least on some people's to do list - the better team may end up winning, but the team that deserves to win is the team that represents how players of old did it - win where you were given a chance. There's a certain quality to that that will be remembered if the best international player ever (not JJ Barea) hoists the trophy this year - and it could be argued that if the Heatles do (which would probably be 1st of 3), there will be a certain asterisk next to it. Not a steroid or anything illegal, but an "eh, they were supposed to win, they paid for the best" asterisk. And that's not how champions have been made. But that's for another comment. Go Dirk (and Mavs.)

Those are my thoughts. Its Taco Tuesday in Pacific Beach, CA, so we'll be watching the game from the comfort of a bar stool and surrounding by wonderful blonde girls. Here here to the NBA Finals.

2-2 Spurs v Hornets. I feel like an ass. But thats the beauty of sports huh? Anything and everything you believe is true could be turned upside down in a split second, with one game or one play. And thats why we watch, will watch, and will love sports.

Spurs V Hornets Part Deux...

Buy some chairs...support my not entreprenurial efforts in this capitalist world...if not now, then when u need a chair, go here, or tell your friends...we have the best price, and we will help youfind your right chair...that is the sitbetter.com promise!

Now, on to the Thursday night potential changing of the guard playoff matchup...

But before I do, some thoughts on the Green Machine vs. the One Man Machine.
Am I surprised by the second game slaughter? Yes. Am I surprised that LeBron struggled again? Yes. Did I expect the Cavs to win the series? I thought they had a chance. Now? None of that matters. The Celtics, namely, KG are awake. Only game 3 will tell how awake, but they are here. The Cavs aren't the Hawks people.
I liken this matchup to a King returned to his land from a great battle. In his absence (17 year absence), there was another dynasty long gone (Bulls), and the establishment of a former empire (Pistons). But there was a young challenging empire with a ruler full of bravado that took the old King's throne - LeBron last year. But dammit, the true King of the East is back, make no mistake about it. And that is what I think we are seeing.

Its halftime right now in the Hornets v Spurs, and pretty close. Lemme tell you why the Hornets are going to win, on the record. While Ginobles made the last shot, and Dirty Bruce made a 3 right before that, the transition offense capped by the Yugoslavian bomber's 3 was not a scramble play, not a last second play, like the prior 2 Espuela buckets, but a regular CP3 led transition bucket.

Will it be an wasy game? I very much doubt it. This is Spurs country still, and you gotta acknowledge that Pop told them at the half that their season is banking on this half. Now, since I can't type and watch, I'm gonna watch.
Peace out. Find some time to play pickup ball.

The playoffs and office chairs

Weird title huh? Yea, im sitting here thinking of ways to talk about the playoffs, and promote my startup at the same time, or one of my, and it doesn't come to me. Then I see CP3 get mad crazy on the Espuelas of San Antonio, who suddenly look older, slower and not as great as before (all the while I hear pundits saying they'll bounce back because of their experience, but does it occur to anyone that with experience comes AGE?).

Like I was saying, without sayin much, the spurs vs. hornets series so far is unique for me in that I love CP3's game, and the enthusiasm and vigor the Hornets play with, but have a sense of loyalty for the Spurs, having lived in SA and rooted for them during my days there. But here is my analogy for my dilemma in choosing a favorite: You have this great leather chair in which you have had many great experiences. Written a lot of great books, made a lot of great deals, etc. But it's starting to look old. I mean, its 8 years old! Creaks a bit, leather is chapped, you know, the signs are starting and your thinking about getting a new chair cause you have to. So your browsing online (at a site, say, like www.sitbetter.com) and see this damn slick chair, with nice lines, great colors, and and a good price. I mean, whats there not to like about the chair? Absolutely nothing. And although I have no assurances it will look like this in 5 years, I decide to buy this chair - why? Because the warranty tells me that it will last me at least three good years, until they have to extend CP3's contract.

So while I don't think that you should base your buying your office chairs on nba issues, I hope you see my dilemma and logic in this series. Not a bandwagon in so much as looking for a new chair. That's all. And FYI, I have lived in LA for a while, and have rooted (sigh) for the Clipshow for as long as I can remember, so cut me some slack for being enthralled by the magic of New Orleans.
And if you really are interested in buying a chair, as I hope you are, I really honestly have to say that we have developed our e commerce site to help you find the right chair for you. I am not just a retailer, but a person legitimately interested in helping you find the right solution. As evidenced by my comparison of office chairs to my nba team allegiance!

We'll talk soon. Snax.
